At the moment we are busy harvesting our olives, looks like we should get a bumper crop this year with around 3 tonnes to be picked. This will give us a return of about 400 litres of pure extra virgin gold which we will be available for sale by September. There is still some oil left from last year that is available.

We have just recently weaned our calves, around twenty all up, all Miniature Herefords which should have a score frame of around 0 to 1. Of those six heifers, one horned the rest polled, have been selected for the Bridgewater High School farm in southern Tasmania. The heifers will be halter broken then taken to various shows around Tasmania including the two major shows at Hobart and Launceston. After the show circuit finishes by the middle of November they will be offered for sale. Orders will be accepted now for these animals with a deposit with the remaining being paid upon receipt of your cattle.

We have kept one young polled mini bull from the calves and the rest of boys have been steered for the meat market. We only select the best animals for bulls and having extra animals to choose from gives us a better chance of retaining the best possible conformation for our breed line. This young fellow has already been sold however we still have a twenty month old Polled Miniature bull available that was shown and winning champion ribbons last year. His score frame the last time he was measured was zero.
At the moment our herd of 35 cows are pregnant and are due to calf from September to November this year. So once the calves are weaned around the same time next year there will be plenty to choose from or you can order now in advance.
